New ANZ Tennis Hotshots Ad

Tennis Australia have once again put together a fantastic ad campaign for the ANZ Tennis Hotshots program. Featuring Australian mother Natalie Bassingthwaighte & her kids, the campaign is aimed at promoting tennis to families & parents.

Here at Fit For Kids Co. we run the ANZ Tennis Hotshot's Program and believe it is the best way to get your children into the sport of tennis.

Always believe you can win!

Day 4 of the Australian Open showed that the underdog is always in with a chance. Denis Istoman defeated the grand slam champion Novak Djokovic in 5 sets to move into the next round of the event.

The battle showed that no matter what position or expectation is placed on you, if you dig in and fight, there is always a chance to win! This is a message that we need to be teaching to all kids (and adults sometimes) when they are playing sport. The belief that they can win is just as important as training, talent & all the other factors on the sports field.

Well done to Istoman for putting up a great battle and defeating a fantastic player in Djokovic.

Australian Open 2017

Day 3 of the Australian Open 2017 and everyone around Melbourne and the world are picking up racquets and getting out onto the court. We are so lucky here in Australia that we have a great summer break to enjoy our sport, family & friends over December & January. In just over 3 weeks the term will be re commencing and we can't wait to kick off and get back into the ANZ Tennis Hotshots program. We run the program at schools around Melbourne in the areas of Parkdale, Mentone, Edithvale, Mordialloc, South Oakleigh, Glen Huntly, Caulfield South, Hawthorn & Middle Park. This year we will be focusing our tennis program on really getting all students to be able to rally, score and participate with other students. We can't wait to see everyone again in 2017, if you haven't already signed up for a program, see the link below: www.fitforkidsco.com.au/enrol/ Kids | Sport | Health | Fitness | Wellness Tennis | Soccer | Golf | Yoga | Mindfulness | Basketball | Netball | Cricket | Coaching | Birthday Parties | Incursions | Melbourne | Bayside | Mornington |

Keeping Active over Summer!

Keeping active in the holidays is easy with kids. Not only does this help them but as a parent, you can keep active by chasing them, running with them & playing sport.
Here are some activities we think are a good idea for this summer.
1. Tennis. It's all over the television and is a summer sport, so why not get out and have a hit with the kids this summer. You can easily make a court with rope a few racquets and a ball.

2. Cricket. Can be played both at the beach and in the backyard or park, cricket is the ultimate summer activity.

3. Frisbee. Active healthy & fun! Who doesn't love a little frisbee. This is another one that can be played anywhere!

4. Evening / Morning walks or run. A great way to spend time with friends and family whilst getting a little exercise is to go on a morning walk or jog. It's a great way to stay fit whilst being social.

5. Yoga. A great activity with free time and it can be done with both kids and adults. With the modern world moving so fast, the benefits help both children and adults.
We hope you are all keeping fit and healthy these school holidays!

Holiday Rest & Re-Energise!

With the holiday period set to kick off in the next week, we thought it was a great time to not only reflect on all of the wonderful activity from the year, but to focus ahead on taking some time out to rest, recover and re charge for 2017.

With the constant noise of technology, phones and modern day stress, modern children and parents have never needed to switch off more. These daily stresses can cause the body to tire, they can curb creativity and can affect mood. We are encouraging everyone this holiday period to try and practice putting away the phone and getting out into nature, the beach, the hills, where ever you can to just 'be'.

Having a month or longer before school returns, there is no reason not to re charge and re energize by getting outside with friends and family and letting yourself re charge.

Put away the ipad, grab a ball and get out there!

We cant wait to do it ourselves and return hungrier, happier and even more active in 2017!

Happy Holidays everyone.
